Our Story

Nadra Smiley is a natural hair expert and founder of Evolving Textures. She is an award-winning entrepreneur, patent owner, inventor, hair stylist, educator, and advocate. Nadra's passion for the beauty industry began at an early age, and she has since made a significant impact on the industry by introducing contemporary styling standards and business best practices. She has consulted with major brands such as Johnson Products & Namaste' (ORS) and helped break legislative boundaries to institute one of Illinois's first licensed natural hair and braiding schools, Amazon Natural Look Academy. Nadra's contributions also include developing an ergonomic hair styling device called Alli Styles Assistant, for which she was awarded a United States Patent. Nadra and her husband continue to prioritize healthy hair and scalp care while guiding customers through their evolving beauty journey.
